NORTHERN ANIMALS
ABOUT A.N.A.
Advocates for Northern Animals is a registered nonprofit located in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The organization was founded in 2011 and is currently in the process of obtaining charitable status to allow for tax-deductible donations. We are run entirely by volunteers within our community.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, with a primary focus on:
-
promoting responsible pet ownership
-
advocating for spaying & neutering to reduce the population of abandoned, neglected, and/or abused animals
-
improving the health and welfare of animals in our community

Our dedicated team of volunteers work tirelessly to provide animals with the care and attention they deserve, and we are committed to making Kirkland Lake and the surrounding areas a safe and ethical place for all companion animals.
Mission
Advocates for Northern Animals is a nonprofit group that works with residents of Kirkland Lake and the surrounding area. Through community events, we strive to promote responsible pet ownership, good health, and improved welfare for companion animals.
We provide medical assistance as needed and advocate for spaying and neutering to reduce the population of abandoned, homeless and neglected animals in our community.
Vision
We see Kirkland Lake becoming a better place for humans and animals-- and through actions fueled by our mission statement, we know we can get there!

We strive for a community where no animal is neglected, abused, homeless, or uncared for.
A.N.A. does not have a primary facility, but rather relies on generous foster families and local businesses for placement while animals await adoption for their forever homes! If you are interested in becoming a foster home for the animals of A.N.A., please see more detailed information on our "FOSTER" tab!

If you are interested in viewing A.N.A.'s adoptable animals, please direct yourself to our "ADOPT" tab-- you will also be able to find our online adoption application on the ADOPT tab's subpage.

A.N.A. is funded entirely by community fundraising efforts and generous local donors from caring individuals and Kirkland Lake & the surrounding area businesses. To make a donation, please see details on how to do so on our site's "DONATE" tab! Every penny makes a difference in the lives of the animals in our care. Thank you!
